Not sure how to incorporate today into your scrapbooks? Today is a day of remembrance and Anniversary for the September 11, 2001 New York City terrorist attacks. Every year I think about how this has impacted my own world, and how the world has changed after this horrific day. I know I am not alone.
I thought it was a good time to reflect that I document the hard times, the history of the day, real feelings, photos, and try to capture things in that perspective… however, I like to focus on the present day and it’s happenings. Always trying to have a positive light on things as much as I can because I know that is how I try and focus my life in general. There is SO much good in the world: still so much to learn, appreciate, grow, and focus our lives on.
Here’s how I’ve documented 9/11 today for my Project Life scrapbook:
If you are like me it is fresh in my memory where I was, what I was doing on this day in 2001. I visited the 9/11 memorial site back in 2011 and it is beautiful… today I am back there in my prayers/thoughts and watched this live broadcast on CNN.com and decided to do a screenshot (on a Mac: command+shift+4 and drag the hashmark over the area and click – it will be in your desktop automatically) of the events in NYC today for my Project Life.Â
Do you have your own photos from the memorial site that you can use again and document another new story?
When I visited NYC back in 2011 (my son and the marching band at LHS performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade), I took this photo of Bailey in front of the “Survivor Tree” at the 9/11 Memorial.
I shared it on Facebook today as a remembrance, and actually looked up and interesting article that reflects that this tree has gone on with a tree seedling project. It is an incredible story that is up-to-date and I could use this photo again to tell another story for today:Â
I hope I’ve given you a few ideas on how you can still document a difficult day/story with some positive light in your Project Life. United We Stand. <3
